Lysebotn Opp Double polling is now open for women class!

Traditionally  climbed in skating technique, the Lysebotn Opp is integrating for the first time the Guide World Classic Tour series with a brand new competition: Lysebotn Opp Double polling!

On this tough climb of 7,5 km for 640 meters total elevation the athletes will only allowed to double pole, they won’t have any assistance from the ratchet of the rollerskies as they will race on free wheels. The competition will be extremely challenging for all starters! The organisers thought at the beginning to only run a test race with a unique class. But the strong interest from the best women athletes of the long distance circuit made them change their plan.

A women class has been created and the ladies will collect the same number of point and prize than the men on this 2nd stage of the Tour. It is very positive to see in which level the women class is evolving for the past 10 years with the creation of Visma Ski Classics in winter  and Guide World Classic tour in Summer. They have pushed the boundaries of strength and resilience in a very high point. It would not be surprising to see some of the top women athletes crossing the line together with the men competitors!

In the men competition, World Cup athletes such as Sjur RØTHE from Norway will measure their strengths against to World best long distance specialists. It will be such an interesting and unique fight! So do not miss that!

The Lysebotn Opp will be held the 1st August 2019 and is the 2nd stage of Guide World Classic tour after Blink Classics (31st of July). The tour will continue with Alliansloppet (17th August 2019) and the final stage Toppidrettsveka (22nd August 2019).
