Here we are! Only 7 days before of the most exciting stage of Guide World Classic Tour 2018 !

The organizers will offer us an impressive and unique level of athletes on this third edition of Blink Classics! Olympic Champions, World Champions, World Cup medalists will start amongst the best Guide World Classic  Tour Teams in Ålgård – Norway, on the Wednesday 1st of August at 18.00 o’clock!

The Norwegian will align a very strong team, with Sundby – winner in 2017, Krueger (OG gold medalist), Northug winner in 2016, Holund, Røthe… But many international stars will join the fight with both Russians Ustiugov and Bolshunov, the British Musgrave, the whole distance French team led by Magnificat, the talented Italian Defabiani, the Canadian Alex Harvey and finally the Peyong Chang Olympic Champion of the 50 km Ivo Niskanen!

Regarding the long distance specialists the Yellow bibs holder of Guide WCT Champion – Anders Mølmen Høst (Team Serneke) will lead the pack and seek a second victory on this third season of Guide WCT. Pedersen and Østensen for Team BN Bank will also be some serious pretender to the final victory! Team Ragde Eindom will also have strong elements in the first positions with Nygaard (Vasaloppet and Alliansloppet winner), Gjerdalen (Visma Ski Classics 2017-18 winner), Moen Fjeld and the unstoppable Anders Aukland! Some youth athletes as Vesterheim (Team Kaffebryggeriet) and Skaug Mathiesen will claim the best places and fight for the Pink bib rewarding the best youth!

In 2017, the victory and the four first places for the men race were caught by World Cup athletes.  You can be sure that the long distance specialists will be eager to play the first positions on this new edition!

In the women race the best long distance skiers will have an intense fight with Jystyna Kowalcyck who took two victories in two participations on Guide WCT 2017. It will be her first participation to Blink Classics but you can be sure to see them in the leading pack. Astrid Øyre Slind (Team Koteng) will defend both her 2017 victory on Blink Classics and the Yellow Bib of Guide WCT Champion 2018 leader. Note also the participation of Mazako Ishida ( Team Koteng) winner of Reisdtadløpet.

A total 14 Guide World Classic Tour Teams will take part to the race and 13 nationalities will be represented.

This year again a very impressive 300 000 NOK (30 000 euros) of prize money will be distributed on this edition! The winner will go home with an remarkable 75 000 NOK prize money.

A popular success!

Blink Classics is also for amateurs! This year Blink Classics will reach 450 registrations after only three years of existence and a first edition with around 200 participants. This is the sign that rollerski practice in competition is expanding and more and more amateur skiers and beginners are testing themselves on different distances! Exciting!

On the side of the road it will a big party along the 6o km separating Ålgård to Sandnes. It will start in the afternoon with concerts and animations and with many spectators along the road in ambiance of Tour de France until Sandnes!

Blink Classics will be possible to follow live for the Norwegian residents on NRK from 18.00 . The highlights of the race will be posted on Guide World Classic Tour social media.
